Accreditation & Licensing

All 18 Discovery House locations have earned full 3-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International).  In addition to national CARF accreditation, Discovery House is licensed by the state, certified by SAMHSA the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and regulated by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation, is awarded to organizations that show substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF and indicate that present practices represent an established pattern of efficient and effective operations that is likely to be maintained and/or improved in the foreseeable future.

Discovery House continues to meet and exceed CARF’s accreditation standards and has built a system that ensures successful results. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of Behavioral Health and Opioid Treatment Programs.
